One of the severe problems identified in the PMO business case was worker safety and regulatory compliance for worker safety on our engineering and construction projects which take place on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. It has been determined that the PMO staff will include an industry safety expert conversant with worker safety issues, OSHA regulations, and insurance industry concerns. The PMO manager has determined that no one currently working for Gulf Offshore Engineering is qualified to fulfill this position. Our credibility with OSHA will be increased if we recruit a certified safety auditor on an independent consulting basis. We have begun the processes of defining the job and seeking the required consultant.
