Project Management Office Controls

Audit research, standards, controls, and the audit trailAuditing is a research activity. The auditor compares the work actually performed to the methodology, standards, and processes established by the PMO. To put it simply, an audit compares what was done with what should have been done. This simple idea is implemented in several steps:Determination of applicable methodology components, standards, and processes. The auditor determines which of these elements governs the work under scrutiny. If a methodology, standards, and processes have not been defined, the auditor reports this gap, and ends the work without performing any further research or fieldwork.
