Project Management  PMO Measurements

The PMO should allow these measurements to guide its approach to operating at the advanced level. As always, the biggest problems and most significant opportunities should be addressed first. Only now, the PMO can measure the Return on Investment (ROI) of solving these problems and leveraging these opportunities quite accurately and reliably. As the PMO defines these specific challenges, it defines a project to change itself so that it can address each one. Each project improves some aspect of the PMO, increasing its effectiveness, efficiency, fit and alignment, or capability and maturity. And the improved services influence the organization so that the organizational project management maturity improves measurably as well.Working at the Advanced Level and becoming a more mature PMO often requires changes to the structure of the PMO. This is the topic of the next section.
