Evaluate Existing Internal Software

The PMO's decisions in the software execution plan determine the future use of every software application currently used for online project management throughout the organization. Therefore, it is necessary to list and evaluate every current software application. Existing internal software is evaluated in the two steps shown in this diagram:

1.      List Software Applications

2.      Evaluate Software Applications

n

List software applications. In listing the software applications, the PMO team makes a comprehensive list of all software applications that are used within the organization for any project management function. Generally, it is best to exclude standard applications such as word processors, spreadsheets, or email, unless there is a particular need to evaluate these project management tools or change how they are used.
