Identify Project Management Groups

Identify Project Management Groups

The customer and stakeholder groups defined in the previous section may be appropriate as the groups for evaluation. Sometimes, however, the groups need to be broken down to a finer level. For example, "trainees" may be a customer group for training services. But, when it comes time to plan evaluations, a different evaluation tool may be needed for in class training and for web-based project management software training. In that case, it makes sense to break the group "trainees" into "in-class trainees" and "web-based trainees."

Define Feedback Project Management Tools

This section provides more information for designing the feedback tools for both customers and stakeholders. There are many ways to receive feedback. However, because clear, concise, prompt, usable feedback is most beneficial, there are just three practical options:

  • Web-based feedback. Give customers and stakeholders a quick online survey, and automatically tabulate the results.
  • Forms distributed with the service. For example, give a feedback form to each student who takes a class.
  • More extensive surveys. Occasionally, longer surveys – online, printed, or given verbally – are appropriate. For example, the PMO mentoring manager may want to sit down with each mentor and mentee a month after a mentoring relationship begins, and ask them how it is going.
