Perform General Project Management Services

There are 9 general PMO services that are written into the Project Plan. Four of these are:

Report status. The PMO delivers information about project status to stakeholders. It also aggregates that information and provides summary status information to executives and other key stakeholders.

Implement methodology. The methodology adopted during planning must be fully developed and deployed. As it is applied to different types of projects, the methodology may be customized and improved.

Promote standards. The PMO should make sure that the standards it has adopted are familiar to all online project management managers, and that information about those standards is readily available.

Improve processes. The processes adopted by the PMO are likely to need revisions and improvements. The PMO should update them frequently.

Standardize tools. Tools already in use – including paper and electronic systems – will need to be adopted and modified. New tools offered by the PMO will need ongoing adaptation and revision.
